1;51-2;04 ‘Music on a Long Thin Wire’ is a experimental musical piece by Alvin Lucier. A long wire is set between two clamps, a magnet, some wooden blocks and microphones then set at a certain level via an oscillator, I really am not sure how it works, but the single tone varies and oscillates all on its own producing sound. I didn’t put it in the video, too long, but it’s worth a listen. As for me it reminds me of the unseen/unheard variables oscillating all around us, that even the slightest intervention will have an effect, even if we don’t know we have even made such an intervention, the great unknown, knowns or even unknowns.
